DR. MATHEW BELLHOUSE-KING

Dr. Bellhouse-King is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and received his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He completed primary care residency at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.

Dr. Bellhouse-King serves as a primary care provider (PCP) and specialty care consultant for the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders program at VA Pacific Islands Health Care System.

An advocate for health promotion and disease prevention, Dr. Bellhouse-King has spent the last 15 years working throughout the Pacific region including the State of Hawaii and 6 jurisdictions of the U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islands: American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia (Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae), Guam, Marshall Islands, and Palau.

Advanced Care Planning: Utilizing Patient Education Videos to Improve End-of-Life Care Documentation

Univeristy of Hawaii at Manoa.

Coordinated legislative affairs including research, drafting, and monitoring active bills.

Advised and counseled Senator and staff on legislative topics including: prescriptive authority, vaccinations, long-term care and hospice.
